Mythic and poetic - musical exposition expands time and space for expression at any meaningful depth or development. In Margaritis case there are no cliché. Margaritis imagery in his epic symphony pulls the inner eye and the brain in different directions rapidly. The rhythmic and sound color settings of the music unquestionably find images and imaginary schemes (interactive musical object models) that are fresh and not dull with overusage the homeric intention. The poetic-musical postexperience is intensely real. Its vividness reveals different hidden perspectives of a world that is not here and now. The musical allusions and symbolisms based on lydian mode allow us to connect with the spirit of greek tragedy which already breathes in the homeric inspiration. Important is the reflection of innerspaces. The moving shapes intersect with each other projecting a more complex shape of the lyrical inside. ©Konstantinos Kakavelakis-Hamburg-Athens 2005 |
